April Juried Student Show
Dear student artists and art faculty,
An exciting prospect to show your work is happening at The ArtPort, a unique galley space at the Atlantic City International Airport!
This April, the airport and the ArtPort Board will be hosting the first juried student show in the Main Gallery. This show will be installed on April 1, 2006 and a reception honoring the artists will be held on April 10, 2006 in the terminal building.
On the evening of the reception, April 10, we will also host a “One Night Stand” during which selected student’s works will be shown throughout the airport terminal lobby for one evening only. Submissions for both the Main Gallery Show and the “One Night Stand” are due March 9th, 2007 and the details for those submissions are attached.
In addition, we are partnering with the Jan Ai Scholarship Fund, a memorial to Jennifer Cakert, a visionary, blogger, artist, writer and aspiring photographer from South Jersey. Jennifer left a legacy of work in her short years on earth and to honor her memory this foundation will be granting two cash awards for our exhibiting student artists the evening of the reception. Presentations will be made to both a college and high school student.
We are asking the Art and Photography Department faculty heads from each institution to select six works from the student population for possible exhibition and review. No more than three works per student are allowed. Due to the gallery space configuration, only 2 dimensional works are acceptable for the main gallery. Sculpture and other larger pieces are appropriate for the “One Night Stand” and should be submitted separately.
More than 30,000 people walk through The Atlantic City International Airport gallery on a monthly basis. This is a phenomenal opportunity to have your work reach this untapped market! Your art will soar at the ArtPort!
