Airport Expansion Projects

Taxiway “P” is an $8-million reorganization of the airside traffic pattern. It is a precondition to the long-range plan to expand the terminal, starting in 2005 with a temporary baggage screening structure. Completion scheduled for fall 2005.

A temporary structure at Atlantic City International Airport to house the Transportation Security Administration’s state-of-the-art baggage screening equipment and more space for the airlines to sort and dispatch baggage to the right flights.

Interior baggage conveyor belt to serve new structure.

A second escalator conduit near baggage claim, enabling ACY to use existing escalator one-way for departing passengers and new one for arriving passengers.

Renovating the men’s/women’s restrooms on the western side of the airport terminal.

A paved parking lot of some 1,000 spaces at Atlantic City International Airport.

A paved parking lot with nearly 400 spaces at Atlantic and Missisippi Avenues in Atlantic City, serving The Walk.

An elevated walkway above the toll barrier at the Pleasantville Toll Plaza, bridging the four lanes of Express E-ZPass for toll collectors.

Four high-mast apron lighting structures to enhance safety at Atlantic City International Airport when pilots operate after dark.

Renovated Men’s and Women’s Restrooms and a new Companion Care Room located at the west end of the ACY Terminal Building, first floor.

 

Huge drainage pipes are installed under new taxiway.
